Agent James Marrick is a member of the Central Intelligence Agency, currently investigating Goa'uld connections to the NID and The Trust.
History
James Marrick is a veteran of CIA Black Ops, with a particular flair for psychology and interrogation. Faced with the prospect of having to extract information from individuals under the control of a Goa'uld symbiote, Agent Kerry Johnson was "encouraged" to accept Marrick as part of her task force investigating the The Trust, though did not get the impression that it was a particularly optional request. Unlike fellow Black Ops veteran Agent Burke, Marrick is far less inclined to play well with others, and tends to focus more on one-on-one interviews while Burke is left to oversee any tactical work. Johnson is known to accompany Marrick to keep him "on a leash" with more sensitive witnesses and suspects, though this tends to encourage him towards more of a bad cop role. Towards the end of the Ori Crusade, Marrick had been recruited by the IOA as their liaison to Stargate Command, allowing Richard Woolsey to focus his attention on the Atlantis Expedition. He participated in the interrogation of Tomin, a former Commander in the Ori Army, and later volunteered himself as an observer on SG-1's mission to the Ori Galaxy aboard Odyssey. Acting on secret orders - of unclear origin - he used the Asgard Core to create a Replicator, intending to unleash it on the Ori Galaxy. The plan backfired, and Marrick was killed, although not before his body was hijacked by the Replicators as a crude proxy for one of their human-form leaders. (SG1: The Ark of Truth)
